NCRI - According to Iraqi intelligence and US goverment sources, on Friday three Americans kidnapped by an Iranian-backed Shiite militia. Iraqi officials say they are the first Americans to be abducted in Iraq since the withdrawal of U.S. troops in 2011. “Sen. Marco Rubio on Wednesday suggested the three Americans were taken hostage by forces with ties to Iran, in connection with the release of four Americans imprisoned in Iran this weekend,” NBC News reported. In a speech in Tehran, IRGC Brigadier General Mohammadreza Naghdi, Commander of the suppressive Basij force, described hostage-taking and blackmail as “the way to get our right from the arrogant”. He referred to the arrest of U.S. citizens and the detention of U.S. boats in the Persian Gulf as examples.
