Policy on Iran and Desperate Attempts to Discredit the MEK

Over the past week, once again policy on Iran was widely discussed in the media. Simultaneously, in recent weeks there has been more growing call for a new approach toward Iranian opposition, the #MEK. The announcement by the US National Security Advisor that “Iran is officially on notice” drew much attention. This position was followed by more Tweets from President Trump and a new round of sanctions, raising the prospect of a change of policy in the US approach towards Iran. As far as the Iranian Resistance, and its components including the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (#MEK/#PMOI), is concerned imposing sanctions against a number of individuals and companies affiliated to the clerical regime for their role in missile proliferation is a positive step in confronting the illegitimate and terrorist dictatorship whose record includes 120,000 political executions. Simultaneously, they are engaged in a massive disinformation campaign to discredit the democratic opposition, the #MEK and the coalition National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), led by its President-elect Maryam Rajavi. By spreading fake news about the #MEK/#PMOI, originated from the Ministry of Intelligence of the mullahs’ regime and the intelligence section of the IRGC, their objective is to convey this false message that there is no viable opposition and the world must accept and deal with the religious dictatorship ruling Iran. Thus, the core of the issue is not their debunked allegations but their hidden agenda to maintain the policy of appeasement.

The international community should end its silence and inaction over Iran ’s crimes

As we wind down the highly turbulent year of 2016, a look back at Iran’s record in these 12 months is quite necessary. And rest assured there is nothing to brag about. From a human rights perspective, 2016 was the stage where Iran resorted to some of the worst atrocities from 1979 to this day. Tehran, with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, increased group executions of minorities while imposing a much heavier crackdown against rights and political advocates, as reported by Human Rights Watch. Iran remains the world’s leading executioner per capita and tops the ranks in juvenile executions, according to Amnesty International.

As unveiled in a sound file of the late Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, in line to lead the regime following founder Ruhollah Khomeini, perpetrators behind the summer #1988Massacre of 30,000 political prisoners–mostly members and supporters of the opposition People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (#PMOI/#MEK)–are currently enjoying senior regime posts in the Rouhani cabinet. This rendered increasing meddling and lethal military intervention in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and beyond, including the recent horrific scenes of Aleppo. Tehran also supported the Bashar Assad regime through intensified advisory, financial, intelligence and weapons support to notorious Shiite militias and what was left of the crumbling Assad army. One can hardly argue against the fact that Iran enjoyed eight years of appeasement from the Obama administration, providing much needed financial relief for Tehran. Despite all this, the regime also needed to continue to portray an anti-American image for its dwindling domestic base.

The international community must end its silence and inaction over Iran’s crimes inside the country and throughout the Middle East, as advocated by Iranian opposition leader Maryam Rajavi, President of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, an umbrella group of numerous organizations seeking peaceful regime change in #Iran. The policies adopted in 2016 by the West, and especially Washington, provided Iran the money and opportunity to pursue its domestic and foreign policies. The international community should take the opportunity of a new U.S. administration in 2017 to launch a new and principled approach vis-à-vis Iran. 
This will pave the path to resolve humanitarian and political crises engulfing the Middle East, bring an end to Iran’s meddling and support the Iranian people.

In a week that saw “Fake News” become the number one topic of debate among mainstream journalists, Politico decided to double down on stupidity and serve up a prime example of fake news. The Washington post dutifully echoed the false accusations to give the lie a cloak of respectability not bestowed by Politico.

Giuliani’s alleged violation was participating in events sponsored by an anti-Iran exile group, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI-MEK), a group that has widespread bipartisan support in Congress and that even John Kerry’s State Department admits has provided valuable intelligence on Iran’s nuclear weapons program.The PMOI/MEK is the largest and most influential member of the coalition of anti-Mullah groups, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), which acts as a government in exile while aiding pro-democracy forcesinside Iran.Many members of Congress in both political parties have supported the work of the PMOI/MEK, including Democrat Sen. Robert Menendez, Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, Rep. Ed Royce, and Sen. John McCain. Other prominent supporters include Newt Gingrich, John Bolton, former CIA Director James Woolsey, and Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz. I, too, while a member of Congress and also more recently, have participated in PMOI/MEK-sponsored conferences and can personally bear witness to the group’s anti-terrorism credentials.The fallacious, unproven charges repeated by Politico‘s headline that the PMOI “killed Americans” is based largely on an incident inside Iran back in the 1970’s, before the Mullahs came to power and 25 years before the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.There has never been a shred of evidence that any members of the current PMOI were involved in those events, yet the American left is now using those discredited allegations to smear one of our nation’s fiercest anti-terrorism warriors, Rudy Giuliani.The charges against PMOI-MEK dredged up by Politico have been refuted by multiple investigations and are no longer given credence even by Obama’s State Department. For nearly two decades, those allegations arising from events in the 1970’s were used as a basis for listing the PMOI/MEK as a terrorist organization.

• However, secret cables later revealed that the reason for that State Department listing in 1997 was Iran’s insistence on the listing as a condition for “normalizing” diplomatic relations.
• In 2012, the State Department removed the group from that list because of the lack of evidence to justify it– and after a federal court agreed there was no basis under federal law for the erroneous listing.

So, why is the political left suddenly so interested in smearing Rudy Giuliani?Could it have anything to do with Giuliani being one of two or three individuals on Donald Trump’s short list for Secretary of State? Do Democrats fear that the former NYC mayor might take the U.S. State Department in a new direction in opposing Iran’s vast network of financing for terrorist groups worldwide?If the American news media establishment had an ounce of integrity, this Politico smear campaign against Giuliani would be laughed out of town. Instead, in  an act of sheer desperation, prominent parts of the establishment media have joined the lynch mob. Obviously, this tells us more about the left’s motives and goals than it does about Giuliani.The establishment media have run interference for Obama’s Iran policy for eight years, and apparently prefer Mitt Romney over Rudy Giuliani as President Trump’s Secretary of State. Hopefully, that might be enough to tip the scales on that imminent decision in Trump Tower.

What happened for political prisoners in 1988 in Iran? It's the question which Maryam Akbari Monfared asks of the Iran Regime. She only wrote it to find an explanation for the death of her sisters and brothers who were members of PMOI. She wants to know why her sisters and brothers were executed without any specific reason while they had already been serving their time in prison. How could they consider these issues as a crime and an act against the national security while it occurred 28 years ago? Maryam Akbari Monfared Prisoner of conscience, who is serving a 15-year sentence in Tehran's Evin Prison, is being denied access to medical treatment. 

She is facing reprisals after filing a formal complaint that seeks an official investigation into the mass killings of political prisoners, including her siblings, in the summer of 1988. Amnesty International, 3 November 2016. Amb. Blackwell: Let's work together for a free Iran

NCRI - At a conference to discuss a solution to the crisis in the Middle East, American politician and activist, Kenneth Blackwell assessed that those in the Western world had a responsibility to take a bipartisan approach and amplify the disenfranchised voices of the Iranian Resistance.
 He highlighted the oppression faced by political dissidents, religious minorities, and women by the Iranian regime. He said that the U.S.'s foreign policy must amplify the voice inside and outside of Iran, especially those who have suffered the cruelty of the regime. Speaking at a round-table on July 8 in Paris, a day before the major "#FreeIran" rally was held Amb. Blackwell said: "I would suggest to you that is going to take the same sort of bipartisanship and consensus-building and resolv to win in our struggle against that regime. 

" He said that members of the main Iranian opposition People's Mojahedin Orgazation of Iran (PMOI or MEK ) in Camp Liberty, Iraq, represented so much more than just the residents of the particular camp, but the whole resistance movement.

Iran - Political prisoner writes to UN about abuses in Iran

As i was schedulled to visit my wife imprisoned in Evin Prison, one of the prison guards, named Mohammadreza Shojai, arbitrarily prohibited my visitation with my wife. When I asked about the reason he said that there is a court order prohibiting you from visiting your family. ... I asked him how is it possible that a court order is issued for me while I am not permitted to know about its content. Indeed, the pressures and the violation of rights stem from a corrupt hierarchy, repression and systematic tortures that go on in prison. Torturing and harassing prisoners have become the norm. As a political prisoner whose basic rights have been violated; I want you to tell us what to do in the current situation when no justice exists.

It should be noted, Hassan Sadeqi was arrested In the early hours of Monday, January 28, agents from the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), (son of Gholam-Hossein Sadeqi, a member of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran [PMOI/MEK] and a resident of Camp Liberty, who died in Baghdad  January 2013 ), and his wife, Fatimah Mothana. The MOIS agents also confiscated their personal belongings, including their computers, family photos and books.
Mr. Sadeqi and Mrs. Mothana were both political prisoners during the 1980s.

NCRI - Ms. Sediqeh Moradi, Iranian political prisoner who is in Tehran notorious Evin Prison has been summoned to appear in the regime's court later this month for a re-trial. Ms. Moradi, 54, who is suffering from sciatica and a torn meniscus and tendon of the leg, but id being denied proper medical treatment. This is the third time that Ms. Sediqeh Moradi has been imprisoned for her beliefs. She was sentenced to ten years imprisonment on the charge of ‘Moharebeh,’ or ‘waging war on God,’ for having relations with the opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) by the notorious executioner-judge Mohammad Moghiseh in Branch 28 of the regime’s Revolutionary Court in Tehran.

Iranian in Austria condemn human rights abuse under Rouhani

Iranian who live in Austria hold a rally for few days protested to Rouhani's visit of Vienna, against human rights abuses under him. They were chants of "Rouhani is a terrorist," "No to Rouhani," and "Democracy, Freedom with Maryam Rajavi". All Iranians demand change regime in Iran. They don't want mullahs regime. The mullahs regime in Iran is terrorist and fascist and Rouhani is a criminal and enemy of Iranian. The rally was organized by the Human Rights Center for Victims of Fundamentalism which supports the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), the principal Iranian opposition group and the pivotal force of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

Demonstrators also expressed their support for the members of the PMOI in Camp Liberty, Iraq. Camp Liberty was targeted by the Iranian regime on October 29, 2015 when a barrage of rockets killed 24 residents and destroyed a large portion of the camp. The demonstrators urged the UN and the US to provide protection to Camp Liberty residents.

UN: The Crimes against Prisoners by Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad

On Monday the United Nation Independent International Commission of Inquiry for Syria said that the regime of Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad is committing crimes against people held in the country's prisons which include extermination, murder, rape, torture, forced disappearance and other inhumane acts. The investigators gathered evidence based on interviews with hundreds of people who managed to survive a period of detention, former prison staff and relatives of victims. The information has been published in a reporentitled “Out of Sight, Out of Mind: Deaths in Detention in

the Syrian Arab Republic.” 

According to the sources of the main Iranian opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK) inside the IRGC, the dispatching of Afghans to Syria has grown almost three-fold in 2015; from around 2500 to close to 7000.

The henchmen openly told the political prisoners that they would like to treat them the way political prisoners were treated in the 1980s. In 1988, some 30000 political prisoners, the vast majority members of the main opposition People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI or MEK), were executed within the span of a few months for refusing to renounce their opposition to the mullahs’ fundamentalist regime.

UN must obliged Iraq to gave visa to families of Mojahedin-e Khalq in Camp Liberty

A number of families of Camp Liberty residing in Europe and United states, are gravely concerned about the lives of our children, especially after the rocket attack on October 29 that killed 24 of the residents. After US forces held the responsibility of security of Camp Ashraf many of Mojahedin's families had the opportunity to come to Ashraf for visit their children for an unlimited.
 The United State had promised to protect the PMOI and even had given them the protection card. But since 2009, that Iraqi Government  accepted responsibility of security of the PMOI, 7 times they were ground offensive and missile attack by Iraqi Army.

Our loved ones were transferred from Camp Ashraf to Camp Liberty, supposedly a Temporary Transit Location, to be relocated to third countries within few months. Yet, after 3.5 years they are under unbearable pressures in the camp and they have not been resettled. The Iraqi Government has virtually turned the camp into a prison.
Based on past experience and notably the attack on October 29, proves that these activities are prelude to yet another bloodbath, this time in Liberty. We strongly urge you to call on the Iraqi Government in every way possible to grant entry visa to us to go to Camp Liberty to see our beloved children and relatives after so many years.

My parents were arrested earlier in late October during a raid by Iranian intelligence agents on their home in Tehran. This isn't the first time that I hear about their arrest, but I can never get used to it. I am now left worrying about their fate and cannot help but think: What kind of torture will they have to endure? And, will ever be able to see them again? 
Her parents support the main Iranian opposition, the Mujahedin-e Khalq (PMOI - MEK). Recently, a number of other MEK supporters were arrested as the regime attempts to quell popular rage.

The members of the PMOI (or MEK) lit candles and held signs reading: "From Camp Liberty prison: I am a Parisian."

NCRI- Iranian political prisoner Saeed Masouri, who is imprisoned in Iran's Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karaj, north-west of Tehran, over his affiliation with the main Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI, MEK) has sent out a message on the occasion of the Shiite Islamic holy of Ashura. 
Parts of his message make a comparison western appeasment of the mullah's regime in Iran and the appeasment of Nazi Germany by then French Prime Minister Philippe Petain.
In the current situation of our homeland [Iran] today, when the European Union, the Secretary General of the United Nations or anyone else only express concerns over the "high number of executions", does not this mean that a lower number, such as 1000, is okay !? And those who make such a deal, have they not bargained away their own conscience? And why not other deals? In any negotiation, negotiating parties must retreat to some extent to reach within the limits of the agreement.
